Meet Katelyn

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

About Katelyn

My name is Katelyn Lee. Originally from TN, my family and I moved to Lawrence County, IN in 2014. After being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, I returned to school and graduated from Messiah University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After spending several years working in a clinic setting, I decided it was time to open my own practice. My goal is to offer quality care that is collaborative and trauma-informed, ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout your treatment.

A little bit about me personally: I'm an avid reader, baker, animal lover, and huge nerd. I'm trying to become a plant mom, but we'll see how that goes. I have 2 dogs and three cats, and am getting a tank ready for a betta fish. I love card games and am pretty good at solitaire. I love coffee and spending time with friends and family. I hope this helps in your decision-making while choosing a therapist. I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your path to healing.

Meet Emily

My name is Emily Kuhfeld. I am a licensed mental health counselor assistant (LMHC-A) originally from Indianapolis. I returned to Indiana in 2021 after a 12-year tenure as a collegiate golf coach. Subsequently, I pursued a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University and am currently a Sport and Performance Psychology Intern at Mooresville High School, working towards my Certified Mental Performance Consultant credential.

My professional practice involves working with individuals over the age of sixteen. I employ cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques to assist clients in achieving their objectives. I firmly believe in the significance of establishing and maintaining a supportive and professional therapeutic relationship with each client.

A little about me:

  • I love to travel- Copenhagen, Denmark and Savannah, GA are my two favorite places.

  • I love to read and try to finish a book a week.

  • The Beatles have been my favorite band since I was 5 years old.

  • I am an Aunt of 3.

  • My husband and I have a dog and cat.

Bright Paths

When you're experiencing mental illness of any kind, the path forward can seem dark, scary, unknown, or uncertain. You can struggle to know that the next right step should be. It can seem hard to have hope of seeing brighter days. But we believe there are bright paths awaiting each of us.

The name, Bright Paths Counseling, was inspired by the painting on the left by a friend of Katelyn's, Kristen Birckholtz. In the painting, the girl is in a dark, scary place, with potential for harm around her. But just in front of her is an archway leading away from the darkness. The painting, to me, tells of possible hope if we just take the steps to get to that better place. That brighter space.

We want to help you on your journey as you navigate your own bright path toward healing, wholeness, and recovery.
